What We Have and What’s Expected for the Week of October 5th

Place Your Orders Here!

Tomatoes are back in season as Faust Farms started harvesting their fall crop last week!

We sold out of slicing tomatoes and cherry tomatoes pretty quickly, so we’ll get more than last week this Tuesday. Faust is also harvesting fall black beauty eggplant, green bell peppers and jalapeños.

Screaming Oaks is back in the swing of things with another round of mushrooms this week, including shiitakes. And salad greens and microgreens are going strong from Homegrown in Folsom and Rose Wagon Ranch and from River Queen Greens, we’ll add some arugula, broccoli rabe and large Tokyo bekana, which is like a cross between lettuce, Napa cabbage and bok choy.

I've got tons of roselle hibiscus in my gardens at the farm, so I’ll be harvesting more for the shop this week. You can make hibiscus tea with the fresh calyxes or I love pairing them with strawberries and apples in desserts like crisps, cobblers and muffins, as well as jams and jellies.

Eggs are still plentiful and both small eggs from the juvenile chicken flock and duck eggs are back on sale.

Sage’s Sea Moss and GraNOLA both restocked us late last week, so we have lots of flavors of 8 ounce and 16 ounce sea moss gels, along with more sereniTEA. And we have GraNOLA in all flavors and sizes and all three GraNOLA bars, too.

We have several yogurts and limited cheeses from Berry Hill and goat milk and cheeses from Southern Maids, both will deliver more on Wednesday. Feliciana’s Best will deliver whole milk, heavy cream, half & half and chocolate milk on Tuesday, as well.

There’s several hummus flavors available, especially large sizes and we are restocking on Wednesday versus Thursday this week.

We did another pork restock from back stock on Thursday, so have almost all cuts available (except tenderloin, baby back ribs and kielbasa). Chicken is fairly stocked up, too, and we’re picking up are next round of beef and goat meat, including steaks we’ve been sold out of for awhile and the new goat sausages on Monday!

There’s also lots of kombucha, fermented veggies, jams and jellies, pickles, freshly roasted coffee, herbal teas and tinctures, ginger or turmeric juices, honey, maple syrup, rice and grits, stone-milled flour and lots more.
