Place Your Orders Here!

Late May is a wonderful time for local produce in South Louisiana as blueberries and tomatoes usually come into season, to join blackberries, cucurbits, green beans, root veggies, cabbages, peppers and more!

We got the first blueberries, heirloom and cherry tomatoes of the season last week and while we sold out fast, we expect more on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

We’ll also get first of the season Japanese eggplant, banana peppers and red cabbage from River Queen Greens on Tuesday afternoon. We’ll restock red beets, kohlrabi, jalapeño peppers, purple bell peppers, pickling cucumbers, zephyr and zucchini squashes, plus parsley, chives, fennel and orange carrots from River Queen, as well.

Fresh mushrooms came in late last week from Screaming Oaks, so there’s lion’s mane, oyster and shiitake. We expect more of those, plus chestnut and pearl oyster mushrooms later this week, too.

On Wednesday, we expect heirloom tomatoes and green bell peppers from Faust Farms, plus green beans, head lettuces, salad green mixes, cherry tomatoes, blueberries and blackberries from Homegrown in Folsom.

Besides the exciting seasonal produce, we did an overdue seafood restock on Friday, so there’s shrimp in three sizes, yellowfin tuna, red snapper and sheepshead filets, red snapper taco strips, smoked tuna and almaco jack portions, soft-shell crabs, alligator strips and more.

We’re also stocked up on our pastured and grassfed meats, especially pork, chicken and goat and we’re a little more limited on beef cuts, although we have plenty of ground beef in two sizes.

Bone broth from Credo Farms was restocked on Tuesday, so there’s beef or trinity bone broth as well as beef or chicken pet bone broth. And traditional (seasoned) or plain chicken bone broth from A&A Acres, too.

We have a few pints of half & half and heavy cream on sale from last week and if y’all don’t snag it, I’ll probably make a big batch of ice cream with it! More fresh dairy is coming from Feliciana’s Best and Southern Maids on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

There will be plenty more eggs from our chickens and a few dozen duck eggs throughout the week, as well.

Josey’s Goods did a small restock on Thursday, too, so there’s more pickles (including pickled green beans) and jams and jellies.

And there’s some frozen brioche buns as well as honey oat loaves and pizza dough from Bellegarde, with fresh bread and buns and more crostini coming on Wednesday and Friday. Il Supremo pasta is out, but we expect more on Tuesday.

We’re stocked up on rice, grits, cornmeal, farro, black-eyed peas and red peas, stone-milled flours, honey and maple syrup, Texas olive oils and vinegars, infused vinegars, salts and sugars, herbal teas and tinctures and lots more, too.
