We have abundant goat meat and more on deck ready to process, so we’re doing a category wide goat meat sale starting this week! That means ground goat, loin chops, rack steaks, leg, neck and shoulder roasts, shanks, ribs and bones are all 15% off regular pricing.

And with the cold weather coming in, I harvested more or less the rest of the basil in my garden, so Italian basil bunches are on sale this week, too. I did cover some smaller plants, but no matter what happens with the weather tonight, basil doesn’t grow as well in cooler weather as in the peak of summer!

The report from Two Dog Farms was good so far — even the tomatoes survived last night’s cold! But tonight will be the real test and regardless of the exact temperature, we can expect summer crops like tomatoes, peppers and eggplant to be finished for the season soon enough, sadly.

Fortunately, there’s lots of gorgeous cool season veggies to make up for it. The hardy cooking greens are especially stunning right now — River' Queen’s deep green, almost blue Dino kale and their gorgeous collards, plus Homegrown in Folsom’s mustard greens.

We also have a bunch of mushrooms from Screaming Oaks and many varieties of microgreens from Rose Wagon Ranch, Little Gem head lettuce and lots of variety on bagged baby salad green blends, plus apples, persimmons, kohlrabi, beets and radishes, Napa cabbage, broccolini, sweet potatoes and several types of winter squashes.

We’ll be restocking more cilantro, dill and parsley on Tuesday from River Queen greens and have a few garlic chives and scallions in the mean time.

Stone-milled flour is fully restocked for holiday baking season! Bellegarde sent us two options last week (Skydance Hard Red Wheat and Stardust Hard White Wheat) and then Barton Springs milled and shipped all of our favorites on Thursday and it arrived on Friday. So there’s more All Purpose, Butler’s Gold, Einkorn, Ryman Rye, Sonora Pastry Flour and Yecora Rojo!

Church Alley also brought us more cold brew, chai concentrate, all simple syrups (including the larger size of vanilla) and their beloved vinaigrette.

We’ve been selling out of Nur’s Kitchen new roasted garlic flavor right away lately, so we often don’t have it to start the week! But we do this week, so nab that or any of the other flavors or dressed options!

We have our Local Cooling Farms eggs to start the week and will likely get another round from Credo Farms to help us keep up with demand by the end of the week.

There’s goat milk and cheeses to start the week, plus a few pints of half & half, heavy cream and chocolate milk on sale from last week. We’ll get a Feliciana’s Best delivery on Tuesday afternoon and Southern Maids on Wednesday afternoon.

We’re still low on all beef, restocking from Little Creek next Friday, November 21st. And we’ll aim to bring our steers in to process this month or the beginning of December.

Our first round of pigs in our finisher group are going to the processor this Wednesday, which means we should have more of all the sausages we’re out of, along with tenderloin, pork stew meat and more by early December. Usually it takes about two weeks for them to cure and smoke the bacon and sausages and we pick it all up at once, but I’m not sure if the timing will work out for us to get it before Thanksgiving or not.

There’s plenty of chicken in the meantime, along shrimp and seafood, tofu and certain cuts of pork like boneless chops, picnic roasts, ribs, jowls, hocks, stir fry strips and breakfast sausage links.

Finally, Credo Farms restocked us with another batch of lard soap, made with lard from our pigs. It has clary sage and cocoa powder and a luxurious silky lather to it!

GraNOLA is low, aiming to restock ASAP, plus there’s glazed pecans, pecan meal, oil and butter, herbal teas, coffee, jams, jellies and pickles, fermented veggies, seasonings, hot sauces, chili oil, olive oil, vinegar and infused salts, sugars and vinegars, dehydrated mushrooms, tinctures, maple syrup and lots more!

Here's the full list breakdown of all our grocery categories:

  • Donations for Mutual Aid: Thanks to a few more larger share purchases, we had a hefty haul to the community fridge in Mid-City for the second week in a row, along with a smaller mid week haul to the community fridge at Turkey & the Wolf. The drop offs included whole milk and goat milk, carrots, salad greens, peppers, cilantro, rosemary, squashes and some bread. Plus Jason from Homegrown in Folsom often drops off extra produce to the food pantry in Covington, but it was closed Thursday, so he sent a big harvest of mustard greens with us to add to our drop off. We’re adding meat shares back to the offerings this week, as we have abundant pork roasts, ribs, hocks and jowls that are a good value!

  • Pastured Eggs: Local Cooling Farms eggs to start the week and we’ll probably restock Credo Farms eggs again on Friday.

  • Pastured Dairy: Goat milk and several goat cheeses as well as sale pints of half & half, heavy cream and chocolate milk to start the week.
