Ground Chicken Returns! Plus Pickle & Jam Restock, Mushrooms, Cukes & Squash, Eggs & More!
What We Have and What’s Expected for the Week of May 19th
Place Your Orders Here!
We just did a big pickle and jam restock from Josey's Goods on Friday, so if you've been missing dill pickles or pickled Brussels sprouts or blueberry and strawberry jam, they're back and ready for you!
Plus at long last, ground chicken is back. Even though we raise beef and pork and not broiler chickens at our own farm and larger animals are definitely more efficient for ground meat and sausage, I have come to love ground chicken so much.
It’s so mild and tender and takes on big flavors so well — I think it is particularly delicious for Asian-inspired meatballs and burgers or for things like lettuce wraps. Thanks to A&A Acres for making ground chicken happen after we haven’t had any for months and months.
We had another banner week for produce last week, but apparently we didn't order quite enough because a few things (Rich May peaches, basil, spinach and zucchini) sold out quickly. It’s looking like we can get more peaches from Cherry Creek Orchards tomorrow and waiting another batch of blackberries, too.
In the meantime, there’s garlic and onions, cucumbers and squash, a bunch of gourmet mushrooms, chives and thyme, radishes, turnips, sweet potatoes and more.
We expect more basil, carrots, scallions, radicchio and white onions to add to the yellow onions from River Queen on Tuesday and likely more bok choy, spinach, kale and a few other things from Two Dog Farms on Tuesday, as well.
We’re stocked up on all proteins including grassfed beef and goat meat, pastured pork and chicken and Gulf seafood. Stay tuned for a special Memorial Day grill bundle later this week.
We have plenty of the large size dressed hummus with more smalls coming on Thursday morning. Plus there’s two types of tofu, goat milk and cheeses, sale gallons of whole milk (more coming Tuesday midday as usual), pet broth and dehydrated treats, fermented veggies and of course all the restocked Josey’s Goods pickles and jams, kombucha, coffee and tea, herbal tinctures, dehydrated mushrooms, seasonings, hot sauces, chili oil, rice and grits, stone-milled flour and more!
