New Hub Schedule and New Mid-City Hub Location at Flour Moon Bagels!

In any business, it’s always good to reevaluate schedules and systems from time to time!

We started our first neighborhood farm hub in May 2017 in Algiers Point and quickly added another in Broadmoor, then Irish Channel and Uptown, then Lakeview and Covington and eventually Mid-City and Mandeville. We paused farm hubs while we were busier than we ever have been during the first weeks and then months of the pandemic and came back with some new locations.

As we’ve continued to grow and evolve since then and added home delivery routes in surrounding neighborhoods of each hub and as our vendors delivery days have shifted and changed, it’s time to make a few more tweaks to the reflect our customers shopping habits and our business in 2025!

Check out the the new hub and delivery schedule here and on the calendar of our website.

Most exciting, we’re starting a Friday morning farm hub at Flour Moon Bagels. Pick up will be 10 am to noon every other Friday and it’s modeled after the same time slot on the opposite Fridays at Levee Baking Co.

More and more people are working from home or have more flexible schedules since the pandemic, so this time frame seems to work for our customers and for us, packing orders the afternoon before has been a great fit. And we’re excited to move our Mid-City Hub over to Flour Moon after years of being graciously hosted by Second Line Brewing.

Other changes include:

  • Retiring our Uptown Hub at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center after a great run of almost three years. This hub and timeframe didn’t totally take off with our customer base and relied on vending a lot of products in person, which can be a lot of work and in some ways goes against our model of trying to rely on pre orders and only hauling and keeping cold food that is already sold/committed.

While it could be done and was enjoyable for me to bring extra products to the JCC, as we don’t do traditional markets, it was often too hectic to feel like I could hand it off to one staff member to handle on her own. And the number didn’t shake out to have two people staff it. As I endeavor to focus on some bigger pictures things in the business, along with some changes at the JCC hosting outside vendors, it made sense to sunset this hub.

In lieu of another Uptown or Carrollton Hub right now (as we also ended our Carrollton Hub when Bellegarde moved downtown to the Commissary), we will be offering home deliveries in all the usual Uptown zip codes every other Saturday after the Algiers Point Hub. So there will be the Irish Channel Hub followed by home deliveries in Uptown zip codes one week and then home deliveries in all those same zip codes the opposite Saturdays!

  • Changing our Lakeview Hub at the Bird’s Nest Cafe back to its original day of Thursday afternoon, during the same time frame, 4-5 pm. This means we won’t have any hubs or deliveries on Tuesdays anymore, which works out as we’re often waiting on big produce and dairy orders to come in midday and in the evening on Tuesdays.

  • Moving our Algiers Point Hub on Saturday up to 10-11 am. We’re still excited about doing the Algiers Hub on Saturday versus a weeknight, but per some feedback from customers, we think the morning slot will work better. And then we will still do home deliveries afterwards in 70114.

We’re excited to get in the groove of this new hub and delivery schedule and thank you in advance for bearing with us on the changes! I’ll still be sending out the email newsletters segmented by neighborhood list 2-3 days before each hub and delivery route and nothing will be changing with our Metairie store hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm.
