SOUTH OF EDEN

Originally from Mexico City, owner Liliana Ruiz moved to the US in 2015, a few months after she turned 30. Liliana is a culinary nutritionist and skilled herbalist who in addition to making traditional plant medicine – in tinctures, oils, salves and more – ferments, cooks, and bakes. 

Liliana also grows many of her ingredients - herbs and botanicals - in her garden plot on Jackson Street and sources other fruit and vegetables locally. South of Eden focuses on kitchen medicine and herbalism, celebrating heritage, land and the medicinal, nutritional and aesthetic beauty of botanicals. We’re excited to offer her kombuchas infused with herbs, seasonal fire cider and fermented vegetables.
