About Us

Laughing Buddha Nursery is dedicated to help people garden naturally and enjoy nature both inside and outside the home. We are an independently and locally owned business who takes pride in the fact that we set our own standards, and hand select the products that we carry and the companies we represent. We base our actions on four primary concepts: 1) Simplicity, 2) Craftsmanship, 3) Customer Service, and 4) Environmental Sustainability.

Simplicity:
At LBN we believe that it is our job to provide you with enough choices in products so that you feel as though you shopped without overburdening you to the point of confusion.
Craftsmanship:
LBN fully backs the products that we sell within their lifespan and proper usage. Products are tested and used in order to ensure their quality and expected performance. We test everything at our flagship store in Metairie, LA. We constantly provide live demonstrations of product usage from our in store hydroponic gardens to our outdoor garden beds. Because of our rigid quality standards, when browsing through our products one might find only one or two brands of a certain item for sale. This is because those were the only items that made the cut.
Customer Service:
If it was not for our client base LBN would not be able to exist. We thank our customers with the best service possible. And most importantly we will take our time to educate each client on a one on one basis. If we do not have a certain item in stock or a client has special needs we will special order according to their situation. We want our clients to get the supplies that they need.
And when on the showroom floor or on the telephone, our LBN staff considers themselves not sales staff, but assisted buyers that are not afraid to be honest and to show you the proper procedure to reach your goal. It is routine that we ask each client a list of questions concerning their needs before any product is even mentioned. We even go as far as to have free gift wrapping all year long.
Sustainability:
This is without a doubt the most cherished pillar of LBN. LBN is a Green company. We take pride in our care of environmental issues. On neither our website or in our Stores will you find products such as synthetic fertilizers, toxic herbicides or pesticides, or growth mediums that do not readily break down into safe and known ingredients. We refuse to buy, carry, or sell any products that do not fall under our category of Natural/Sustainable gardening practices. We purchase from local Vendors whenever possible to reduce fossil fuel emissions, serve only organic coffee and milk at our Venus Flytrap Espresso Bar, and are constantly seeking other avenues to reduce our footprint.
